Handmade Crocheted Garland for the Christmas Tree

 

you will need scissors, I9 5.50mm crochet hook & any color yarn and any thickness, I used a basic red heart

make a slip knot and leave at least 10in strand just in case you want to hang it somewhere else

for the extremely long part, pun intended: Chain a basic crochet chain and make it as long as you like.  I made mine to fit a 6 foot faux tree with a 36 in diameter for ultimate draping. So I crocheted approximately 48 feet, well I wrapped it around my 24 in ruler 12 times. I then did the 2nd color to match the length of the 1st.  No need to count each chain that would be terrible. it took about 40 min. when you get to the end, stop. 

When you get the length you want pull the last chain all the way through about 10 in or what ever you measured for you long strand at the beginning, cut and pull and it will knot automatically. (tie it off basically and leave a tail in desired length and your done, repeat with next color
